![]() ![]() Bovie Medical Corp. Reports Nine Month Results: Receives
Orders Of $1.0 Million for New Electrosurgery Generators Melville, New York, November 15, 2000 Bovie Medical Corporation (the Company) (OTC: BB: BOVI) a leading manufacturer of electrosurgery products today announced nine months results for the period ended September 30, 2000. For the nine months, revenues totaled 7.1 million resulting in net income of $465,640 or $.03 per share (diluted), compared to a revenue of $7.2 million and a net loss of ($1,784,800) or a ($.05) loss per share for the nine months ended September 30, 1999. Fiscal year 1999 results were impacted by a one-time charge resulting from the Company reacquiring 2.0 million convertible preferred shares in exchange for certain assets and the cancellation of a licensing and manufacturing agreement with a third party. In other news, Bovie announced that it received initial orders exceeding $1.0 million for its high frequency generators, with shipments having commenced in the current quarter. The generators are used in the areas of: dermatology, gynecology and general surgery. "We are pleased to report three consecutive quarters of profitable performance. Furthermore, our fourth quarter is off to a strong start, witnessed by October sales reaching a revenue milestone exceeding $1.0 million, the first in Bovie's history and positioning the Company for a record fiscal year.
